Congratulations to everyone at Compton and Up Marden for their successful OFSTED inspection last month.

The report states: that we have ‘dedicated adults … who want every pupil to achieve their best’. It is particularly positive about the Reception year, which is described as ‘caring and purposeful’, and also about the strong phonics teaching throughout the school, which is delivered by well trained staff. He praised our rich and effective curriculum, which he says ‘is adapted well to meet different children’s needs’ and was also confident that ‘the curriculum enables learners to learn effectively in mixed age classes’.

In a letter to staff, the Chair of the IEB, Nicola Waters said: On behalf of the IEB, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for all you have done over an extensive period of time to achieve this fabulous outcome.  You all work so hard and always have the children’s best interests at the front of your mind in every lesson you plan, teach or support, as well as ensuring that their wider experiences of school life are positive ones.

It is always a joy to visit Compton and Up Marden and to work with you.  Thank you!
